Veterinary Assistant – Neurology

$27.00–$35.00/hour DOE
Full-Time | Tuesday–Friday | 8:00 AM–6:30 PM | Four 10-Hour Shifts

SAGE Concord is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Neurology team.

This is a hands-on Specialty Veterinary Assistant position supporting advanced neurologic diagnostics and neurosurgery, including MRI and CT scans, fluoroscopy, and spinal and brain surgeries. You'll work alongside board-certified neurologists, RVTs, and an experienced Specialty team while continuing to develop your skills in Neurology, diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, and surgical patient care.

What You Bring

• Previous hands-on Veterinary Assistant, Vet Tech, or veterinary clinical experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills.
• Previous diagnostic imaging experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, Surgery, Anesthesia, Neurology, Emergency, ICU, or Specialty medicine is a plus.
• Experience assisting with surgical procedures and maintaining sterile technique preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow clinical protocols.
• Ability to monitor patients closely and quickly communicate changes to the medical team.
• Strong organization and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Specialty hospital.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

• Support board-certified neurologists and RVTs with Neurology appointments, diagnostics, procedures, and patient care.
• Assist with MRI and CT scans, fluoroscopy, and other advanced diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging and procedures.
• Assist with spinal and brain surgeries, including surgical preparation and scrub nurse responsibilities within your training and permitted scope.
• Prepare surgical suites, instruments, equipment, and patients for neurosurgical procedures.
• Support anesthesia preparation, patient monitoring, and recovery.
• Assist with neurologic examinations and diagnostic workups.
• Provide safe animal restraint and hands-on nursing care for neurologic patients.
• Monitor hospitalized and post-operative patients and communicate changes in condition to the medical team.
• Support mobility, positioning, comfort, and recovery for neurologic and neurosurgical patients.
• Maintain accurate patient information and help ensure equipment, treatment areas, and supplies are organized and ready for use.
